Stealthy Water Recycler Aquaback Collects $735K in Funding

New Hampshire-based water purifications startup Aquaback Technologies Inc. has landed $735,000 of a planned $1.3 million financing round, according to federal documents.

While the documents filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission don’t specify the names of the five backers in the round, among the company’s directors is Scott Newquist, an operating partner and the CFO of Cambridge Capital LLC. Newquist also serves as the co-CEO of Nashua-based Aquaback.

Aquaback has a simple placeholder website with little information about the company, but in his profile on the Cambridge Capital site, Newquist says Aquaback is developing “a patent protected breakthrough water distillation technology offering extremely energy-efficient, self-cleaning, compact and light-weight water purification devices and systems.”

Also listed as an executive and director of Aquaback is William Zebuhr, founder and CEO of ZanAqua Technologies Inc., based in Hudson, N.H., and also a water purification company. Zebuhr has applied for and holds a number of patents around water distillation and purification.
